Super Duplex 2507 (F53)
- High strength.
- Resistance against corrosion.
- High thermal capacity.
- Low coefficient of thermal expansion.
Description
Super Duplex SAF 2507 is a really strong material with great corrosion resistance.
The fact that this is a stainless-steel material, the two attributes that make it different is its high thermal capacity and its low coefficient for thermal expansion.
Other than that, this material’s corrosion resistance and toughness cannot reduce what so ever is done.
From chloride stress, corrosion fatigue, erosion-corrosion, corrosion cracking, to general corrosion in acid, this material has high resistance. Apart from this, this material is known for its good mechanical strength and high weldability.
However, when exposed to high temperatures for a long time, there will be some side effects on the materials. Other than that, you can find this being a part of many industries.

Possible Alternative Grades:
- UNS S32760: It has a higher impact strength and shows no sign of ductile deformation. But the impact strength gets a bit low under low temperature.
- UNS S32750: This alternative to the 2507 duplex stainless steel has great yield and tensile strength. However, it lacks is its low-temperature resistance.
Frequently Asked Questions:
1. Is 2507 super duplex stainless steel magnetic?
Yes, 2505 duplex contains ferritic grains in its component. Therefore, it is a magnetic substance.
2. Difference between dimples and super Duplex 2507?
When compared to dimples duplex, the super Duplex 2507 has higher strength and resistance – thanks to the increased quantity of Chromium, Molybdenum, and Nitrogen in the composition.
3. Will alloy 2507 rust?
Like all stainless steel, this also has its limits.
When exposed to a corrosion environment for a long time, 2507 stainless steel does experience corrosion.
