Description

The Type 317L stainless steel has higher quantities of nickel, molybdenum, and chromium but is low in carbon. Hence, it has better corrosion resistance and can also survive chemical attacks from tartaric, formic, citric, acetic, and sulfurous acids.

It has a higher creep and also has higher stress rupture. This alloy also has higher tensile strengths at high temperatures. The alloy tends to develop some magnetic properties after welding, but none when in annealed form.
